Worked for over 20 years for Nokia, in numerous leading positions in research, sales and marketing, as well as business units till year 2005. Lead all the global business units of Nokia Networks and was a member of Nokia’s Board of Directors in 2002-2005.

Board experience

Recently has acted in boards of many companies. At the moment is Chairman of the Board in Norvestia Plc and board member in Swiss company ASCOM AG. Special area of interest in board working includes the efficient cooperation between board and management in different development stages of a company.

Activities

Doctoral degree in technical sciences (1987). Worked at Helsinki University of Technology as Teaching Assistant in Applied Mathematics and Lector in Computer Science, as well as Associate Professor in Data Processing in the School of Economics. Acts in the Board of French-Finnish Chamber of Commerce. Among hobbies are ice hockey, motorboats and hunting.
