Management experience

Doctor of Science (Technology) Leenamaija Otala has previously performed various tasks in Sanoma Osakeyhtiö and Nokia Group, e.g. Training Director in Nokia and Company Planning Director in Nokia Mobile Phones, as well as a consultant and professor at Helsinki University of Technology. For the last 15 years has been active in the crossroads of the academic world and the businesses, trying to enhance the cooperation between them and the implementation of new research knowledge into practice in companies' management.

Leenamaija Otala is Docent at Helsinki University of Technology and Tampere University of Technology. She is also member of management team of CICERO, the top unit of learning research, coordinated by the University of Helsinki. In addition to teaching and research, Leenamaija Otala is consulting numerous Finnish and international companies and groups, specializing in developing the know-how capital, know-how strategies, implementing strategic process into practice and wellbeing at work.

Leenamaija Otala is also researcher, developer and coach of board work as well as maker of board evaluations to the boards of different companies and organizations. She has board experience both in small and large companies, e.g. YLE.
