Pekka Roine

Management experience

Pekka Roine has led and reformed technology business for over 30 years.

In 1972 started as founder and the CEO of the Finnish subsidiary of Digital Equipment. After a decade, acted as Assistant Director Europe in company's European headquarters in Geneva in 1982-83. Returned back to Finland for another decade of rapid growth and pioneering development. In the beginning of 1990s, work specification concentrated even more in European large scale organizational turmoil, changing from subsidiary oriented more to branch oriented. Consequently, returned to Geneva, this time to lead the global Travel & Transportation branch of the Digital Group in 1992-94.

 

Board experience

International board experience includes boards or equivalents in more than 20 corporations or organizations in Finland, Switzerland, France, the USA and Israel. A very essential aspect has been responsible role of a board as company's developer, not only administrator.

Activities

Basic education in physics, i.e. Master of Science, University of Helsinki, 1972.

Stanford Executive Program (long course in Business Management) in Stanford University, California in 1984.

Still residing in Geneva, Switzerland.

Sea is the most essential hobby. With the sea is related also participation (not as active as earlier) in Finnish voluntary national defense activities. Accomplished the National Defense Course in 1988. Lieutenant commander in the Reserve of Finnish Navy.
