Recently, we kicked off our training with 14 enthusiastic participants eager to delve into the intricacies of effective board governance.

During the first module, participants had the opportunity to get to know each other and learn about the theme of Board Agenda – Nordic Governance model and Roles & Responsibilities of the Board members.

Nordic Board Work experiences

Presented by Rajeev Suri, former CEO of Nokia and Inmarsat, participants gained firsthand knowledge from a seasoned executive, understanding the nuances of board dynamics and decision-making processes.

 

 

Board Agenda and Working Practices in Finland

Delivered by Laura Raitio, a Partner at Boardman, this presentation shed light on the specific practices and approaches adopted in the Finnish corporate landscape, offering practical strategies for effective board governance.

 

 

Nordic and Finnish Corporate Governance models

Manne Airaksinen Senior Advisor from Roschier provided a comprehensive overview of corporate governance models prevalent in the Nordic region, with a focus on the unique characteristics of the Finnish context. Understanding these models is crucial for navigating the complexities of board dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

 

Board Member Duties and Responsibilities

Also presented by Manne Airaksinen, this session delved into the core responsibilities and obligations of board members, equipping participants with the knowledge needed to fulfill their roles effectively while ensuring compliance and accountability.
