Special session with Dr. Falko Paetzold
27.11.2025 - 27.11.2025 | Boardman Olohuone
Boardman´s Working Group on Sustainability and Safety is having a special session with Dr. Falko Paetzold on 27th November 2025. Theme of the interactive masterclass: “The cutting-edge frontier on Impact as a Value-Driver – Systemic Investing and Multi-Capital Approaches”.
Wealth holders and business owners are increasingly interested to understand how to create Impact in the world of complex systems. Founder of the global Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP), Dr. Falko Paetzold summarizes key elements of the most recent research and training programs by CSP with Stanford PACS, MIT Sloan and the University of St. Gallen.
We are increasingly exposed to changes of entire systems, such as the energy or transport systems. Some wealth holders and business owners now think deeply about how to not only reduce risks but also support changes towards more sustainable and equitable systems. What are the key approaches and concrete examples from e.g. Lukas Walton, grand-son of the founder of Wal-Mart?
Systemic change is driven not just via economic capital – investments, philanthropy – but also via the thoughtful application and combination of further forms of capital, such as access to certain networks, specific knowledge, and reputation. CSP and its colleagues at MIT Sloan and Standford PACS have been working deeply in this field, and Dr. Falko Paetzold shares key insights, examples and tools, as well as case studies such as the work by Maria Ahlström-Bondestam.
Dr. Falko Paetzold is the Founder and CEO of the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth, affiliated with the University of St. Gallen and operating globally (Zurich, Singapore, San Francisco). He leads the Impact Investing of the Next Generation program, originally launched with Harvard Kennedy School and now hosted by MIT Sloan. He serves on impact advisory boards for financial institutions such as Pictet and ZKB. His background includes academic roles at Harvard, MIT Sloan, and EBS University, and professional experience in sustainable finance at Bank Vontobel and Contrast Capital. He holds a PhD from the University of Zurich and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
