Join Boardman’s networking trip to experience the atmosphere of the U.S. elections and the vibrant energy of New York in November 2024!
The year 2024 marks an exciting election season for the United States, bringing significant changes that will impact the entire world. Simultaneously, the U.S. economy remains on a stronger footing than most other global economies.
Boardman’s trip is scheduled to coincide with the U.S. presidential elections, giving us a unique opportunity to experience the election results live at special election watch parties organized for our group.

TRIP highlights
- Mediaocean / Flashtalking: We will hear about the average go-to-market media budgets for targeting East Coast B2B or B2C markets based on expert insights. Additionally, we’ll explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in this context.
- Google: We will visit Google’s new, technology-focused office in New York. Additionally, we will discuss the latest innovations and technologies in marketing and advertising, as well as how geopolitical events are shaping marketing strategies.
- Smartly: As one of the world’s largest SaaS digital advertising platforms, Smartly manages nearly $5 billion in ad budgets for over 700 brands globally. During our visit to Smartly’s NYC office, we will learn about the impact of technology, marketing innovations, AI, and how to build international teams.
- Goldman Sachs: One of the world’s most prominent investment banks welcomes our group to their New York headquarters on Wall Street. During our visit, we will have the chance to hear a deep macro and market outlook from one of their economists, providing valuable insights into the current state of the economy and markets.
- Kantar: The world’s leading marketing data and analytics company will present its BrandZ list of the most valuable brands worldwide. We will delve into how brand value influences a company’s commercial success, the key factors for brand growth, and its importance in international expansion.
- Nasdaq: Located in New York, the Nasdaq is an American stock exchange and the most active center for stock trading by volume in the U.S., second only in market capitalization to the New York Stock Exchange. During the trip, we will ring the bell and dive deep into stock trading insights with an experienced analyst.
- TBWA: We will explore how AI is transforming creative agencies and the opportunities it offers in the creative process. Additionally, we will discuss the collaboration between AI and humans and its impact on the future of advertising and marketing.
- Tapaus: Event agency TAPAUS has been serving companies of all sizes and bringing top Finnish companies to the world since 2012. TAPAUS’s New York representative will introduce us to the world of New York’s event industry, where everything is done bigger and louder.
- ILOQ: We will hear from ILOQ’s General Manager, Joni Lampinen, who will provide a concrete case study on ILOQ’s internationalization journey and share insights on what to consider when planning to expand into the U.S. market.
- Gemic: Johannes Suikkanen, who led Gemic’s expansion from Finland to international markets, will share Gemic’s growth story and lessons learned from entering the U.S. market.
- DoubleVerify: We will visit the DoubleVerify office in the heart of SOHO, focusing on brand safety! The visit includes an inspiring tour, a captivating presentation or fireside chat, and casual networking over cocktails with members of the company’s leadership team. Topics of discussion include building an international brand, the impact of AI, and global expansion, featuring a concrete case study on the acquisition of the Finnish AI company Leiki.
- Brooklyn Investment Group: We will get to know a new AI-driven wealth management platform founded by Goldman Sachs veterans Erkko Etula and John Nay. During the visit, we will hear how AI is already impacting the financial markets and learn about future industry trends. We will also hear personal experiences of what it was like to leave a big bank and establish a small financial company in the U.S.
- Columbia University: We will visit Columbia University, one of the world’s top universities, and meet with esteemed law professor Anu Bradford. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from an expert in the field about current legal issues and explore Columbia University’s groundbreaking research and top talents. Additionally, we will meet Heli Sirviö, Columbia’s instructor in Finnish and Swedish languages.
- Election Watch Party & Networking Evening at the Consul General of Finland in New York: Hosted by Finland’s Consul General, Jarmo Sareva, we will gather at the iconic 5th Avenue in New York! This unique event offers an excellent opportunity for networking and engaging in current political discussions.
DATE AND PRICE
The main program (company visits, networking events, seminars) will be held from November 4th to 8th, 2024. Note: We will also host an informal group dinner for participants on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
The program cost is €2,500 + VAT. Participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation expenses.
REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY
The number of participants is limited. Places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
You do not need to be a member of the Boardman network to join the trip.
