Tuomo Haukkovaara

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND BOARD EXPERIENCE

MSc in Technology (Helsinki University of Technology, 1985) Tuomo Haukkovaara has worked for 38 years in international information technology expert-, sales- and management positions at IBM and its associated companies in Finland and Europe. Haukkovaara was the CEO of IBM Finland in 2011–2017 and worked as the interim CEO for 7 months in 2021–2022. Haukkovaara’s most recent operational role involved significant business responsibility in the Northern, Central, and Eastern European market regions until the summer of 2024. Since 2017, he has also been the chairman of the board of IBM Finland.

Haukkovaara is also active in several other organizations that are linked to his professional career. He was a Member of the Board and a long-time Chairman of Amcham Finland, which promotes international business, and a Member of the Board of Teknologiateollisuus ry. Still nowadays, Haukkovaara continues to promote technological research and education in the commission of the Kaute Foundation.

Haukkovaara has been involved, throughout the current millennium, in the operation of Digipool and its predecessors, which develops the digital security and security of supply of Finland’s critical infrastructure. He continues as a Chairman of Digipool today.
