Harri Koponen

Professional history and Board experience

Harri Koponen has over 25 years of experience working with and within international companies’ sales, marketing, production and management divisions and specializes in telecommunications, information technology as well as information security.

Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer of various companies, Koponen worked as the lead designer and production manager at Oy Shell Ab, account manager and sales executive at HP as well as head of Ericsson’s North American consumer business unit.

Koponen founded and manages a management consulting company, Oy Osaka Ltd. Through it he works as an investor and advisor to many different start-up companies and throughout the years has received invaluable experience working within international management consulting especially in the Russian and Eurasian markets. Amongts other things, he has also been the Chief Executive Officer of NPTV, a cloud based interactive TV programming company. In Finland he was a part of the Rovio Entertainment executive team.

Koponen has successfully executed companies change and development processes as well as company renewals in Finland, England, Sweden, the Middle East and the USA. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Sonera as well as vice president of TeliaSonera. Additionally, he has also managed Wataniya Telecom, a multicultural organisation in Kuwait, as the Chief Executive Officer which has operations in Algeria, Tunisia, Palestine, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Maldives and Kuwait. In Sweden he was the Chief Executive Officer of Tele2. Koponen has been working as the Chief Executive Officer at SSH Communication Security and at Nortal Oy in Finland. Koponen is currently member of the board in several companies.

Koponen also has over 20 years of experience working on boards, both in Finland and abroad. He has numerous times acted as an advisor to the board as well as being a board member of for example Stonesoft and varying international companies’ boards. Currently Koponen is chairman of the board of Tecnotree Oyj and Oy Osaka Ltd as well as sits on the boards of Molok Oy, TLD Registery Ltd and Playforia Oy.
