Philip Aminoff


Philip Aminoff M.Sc. (Econ.), MBA (INSEAD), is Chairman of the Board of Helvar Merca and Helectron and Vice Chairman of the Board of Veho, Helvar, Fastems and Electrosonic. He is a Board Member of MTC Flextek and in Antti Ahlström Perilliset Ltd, Otava Ltd and Boca Holding AG, and he is also a Supervisory Board Member of LähiTapiola P&C Insurance.

Philip acts as Chairman of the Association of Family Businesses and the German-Finnish Chamber of Commerce and he is a member of the delegation of the ESMT Berlin Hidden Champions Institute. Philip serves also as Chairman of the Nomination Committee of the DIF Board Professionals Association, and he is also a Senior Advisor in matters related to good board work of unlisted companies.

Philip has an international career in high-tech companies. In 1990-93, he worked as a market and department manager in Boehringer Mannheim, Germany – pioneering company of medical diagnostics. From 1993 till 1998, he was the managing director of Electrosonics, England – a company specialized in delivering complex audiovisual systems. Since 2000, he has worked in Halvar, Finland, which is specialized in lighting electronics. He has also made factory automation possible in Fastem, FInland. Among other companies, Philip has served as a Board member of Myllykoski (2002-07), Paulig (1997-2014) – Chairman from 2011 till 2014 – and LähiTapiola (2015-2018).

Philip served as Chairman of the following organizations: Family Business Working Group of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2004-2005, Board of European Family Business Association in 2008-2012, Jury of EY’s Growth Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014-2016 and Directors Institute Finland in 2016-2018 and Deputy Chairman of the working group of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy’s Domestic Ownership Program 2020-2021.
