Satu Koskinen

Professional history and board experience

PhD Satu Koskinen has over twenty years of experience in retail and service business management. She has worked as a Division Director, Department Store Director, SVP HR and as Principal and Managing Director of S-Group’s Jollas Institute. She has also served on the boards of several companies and associations and as a member of various business development groups. She has also worked at the Oxford Institute of Retail Management (OXIRM) at the University of Oxford as a researcher and member of the Advisory Board.

Satu holds a PhD from the University of Jyväskylä School of Business, majoring in Management and Leadership. Her doctoral dissertation (At the heart of the Board: CEO and Chair. Processes, practices and relationships) focused on the practices in the dyadic CEO-Chair relationship, the development of trust in this relationship and the process leading to the CEO’s dismissal. Currently, Satu is a board member in several companies and additionally, an entrepreneur with Boardcoach, a company she founded.
