Changes in our Board of Directors – new chair and three new members appointed

Boardman is a think tank and competence network dedicated to developing collaboration between owners, boards, and management (OBM) in Finland. At the Annual General Meeting on 19 March 2026, Olli Holmström was appointed as our new Chair of the Board, and Tuula Antola, Marjo Miettinen, and Ari Virtanen were appointed as new board members. Tuomo Haukkovaara, Suvi Johansson, and Timo Lappi will continue their terms as board members.

Olli Holmström, who was appointed as Chair, has served as an active Boardman Partner since 2023 and has played a key role in developing our activities, including our Alumni network. He has over 30 years of leadership experience in business, the non-profit sector, and public-benefit organizations. Until 2025, he served as CEO of the Finnish Deaconess Foundation, and prior to that, he held HR leadership positions in various technology units of Nokia. Olli has gained extensive board experience in listed companies, social and healthcare sector companies, growth companies, and educational organizations.

It is a privilege to continue this work now as the Chair of the Board,” says Olli Holmström.

New board member Tuula Antola is the Director of Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. She previously served for many years as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Espoo and as a member of the city’s executive management team, and before that worked as an entrepreneur in startup companies. In her board roles, she has focused particularly on public-sector organizations and third-sector entities. Tuula has been a Boardman Partner since 2023 and was previously involved in establishing Boardman 2020, the predecessor of Boardman Grow network for growth entrepreneurs and growth minded leaders.

Another new board member, Marjo Miettinen, is Chair of the Board of Ensto Oy and a board member of Ensto Invest Oy and EM Group Oy, as well as one of the owners of this internationally operating family enterprise. A Boardman Partner since 2016, Marjo also serves on the board of Technology Academy Finland (TAF) and is Chair of the delegation of the Savonlinna Opera Festival.

The third new board member, Ari Virtanen, has more than 30 years of experience in executive positions in the telecommunications, construction, and electrical industries, as well as in top management consulting. He is currently an entrepreneur and serves on several company boards. Ari has been a Boardman Partner since 2022 and is actively involved in developing the activities of our network of researchers LJT.

Continuing board members Suvi Johansson, Tuomo Haukkovaara, and Timo Lappi bring expertise from international technology companies, sustainable and regenerative business, and growth companies. Leaving the board are Mirel Leino-Haltia, who served as Chair for the past three years, and Satu Koskinen and Jussi Pajunen, who served as board members.
