Would you like to be part of a program designed to expand your network in Finland and enhance your boardroom skills? If yes, Boardman’s Board Buddy Program would be an ideal fit for you!

Kickoff event was held at Boardman’s office and on Teams.

In the Board Buddy Program, Boardman pairs international Boardman Members with Finnish board members to discuss board work, leadership, and current topics. The Board Buddy program is being implemented for the first time this year, and 12 pairs are participating.

Boardman’s Board Buddy Program 2024 officially started on March 7, 2024, with a kickoff event at Boardman’s office and on Teams.

The pairs have been matched so that they share common interests. For example, some pairs will delve into discussions about the board work of growth companies, while others share thoughts on the role of the chair, and Nordic corporate governance and legal responsibilities of the board.

The program continues until October 2024, when a closing event will be held. In between events, pairs meet each other about once a month to discuss the themes of board work and leadership that interest them.

They discussed the critical role of communication between the board chair and the CEO, as well as distinctive aspects of the Finnish working culture.

What is Boardman’s Board Buddy Program about?

The Board Buddy Program is an opportunity meant only for Boardman Members. One can become a member in two different ways:

The Board Buddy program is being implemented for the first time this year, and 12 pairs are participating.

The aim of the Board Buddy Program is to network and share thoughts on Finnish board work and leadership. The program might provide an introduction to future board opportunities, although this is not a guarantee.

The Board Buddy program is being organized for the first time this year, but if the pilot is successful, the program is intended to continue and be further developed in the future.

Interest towards the program seems promising, as Boardman promised to match 10 pairs but received so many good applications that ultimately matched 12 pairs.
